Thriving at Home

Empowering mothers to thrive in work and family life

The exhaustion

Today has been difficult to say the least. It’s not even 5 yet and I have a headache and would love to go straight to bed. Here is a list of all the chaos from the day:

  • I had lots of meetings
  • My 4 year old was sent home from school because her ear got hurt and it was bleeding
  • My nearly 2 year old hasn’t gone to nursery because we are moving her to a new setting which starts tomorrow
  • Because the girls are home the house is a disaster
  • I made chicken nuggets and chips for the evening meal
  • They barely ate said chicken nuggets and chips
  • Since I took them outside in the garden to eat hoping it would keep the house from getting messier and also distract the kids, toddler proceeds to eat dirt and rocks and have a melt down because I stopped her
  • Brought them in to eat and said toddler continued having a meltdown because she wanted her older sisters blue plate not her yellow one
  • Had to make them a secondary evening meal of burgers since they weren’t eating.
  • Because I have had enough of the day the iPads are out which is disappointing as I am avoiding screen time before bed but I am now binging gummy sweets and writing this post.

Hope your day was better than mine!

Love,
